Chancery Road Maisonette Upholstery Deep Cleaning Project
A well-kept Chancery Road maisonette with a big family and young children, where the home's upholstery was due for a proper deep clean despite everything looking clean and well maintained.
The situation
This beautiful maisonette home at Chancery Road was well kept and clean, with a big family and little kids using the space every day.
While the home was already in good condition, the upholstery was due for a deeper clean. With frequent family use, the fabric furniture had accumulated dirt and buildup that wasn't necessarily obvious from the surface.
There were also some stains that the family wanted us to try to work on during the cleaning.
What we did
We carried out our usual deep cleaning process using injection-extraction, followed by steam treatment across the upholstery.
We also attempted stain removal on several items. However, after assessing the stains, we found that most were actually fabric colour changes rather than surface stains. These cannot always be reversed through cleaning.
We were able to lighten some of them, but we did not overpromise complete removal where the change was in the fabric itself.
The result
The upholstery received a full deep clean and steam treatment, removing the dirt and buildup from everyday family use.
Some of the stains were lightened, but most could not be completely undone because they were changes to the fabric colour rather than removable stains.
The entire cleaning took 2 hours and 30 minutes.
