Jurong East HDB Mattress Deep Cleaning Project
An old mattress deep cleaned in 45 minutes — a Jurong East HDB home where the mattress had clearly aged, but still had plenty of accumulated sweat and grime that could be extracted.
The situation
A husband and wife living in an HDB home in Jurong East had an older mattress that was due for a proper deep clean.
The mattress had aged over the years, and its colours had already changed with time. But an old mattress doesn't necessarily mean it cannot be cleaned.
We explained that while we may not be able to restore the original colour of an aged mattress, we can still work on the dirt, grime and sweat that have accumulated within the fabric.
What we did
We did our signature deep cleaning with shampoo injection and extraction, and finished off with a high heat steam sanitisation.
The shampoo injection and extraction worked through the mattress to loosen and remove the accumulated grime and sweat.
Although the mattress had visible colour changes from age, we were still able to extract the buildup from within the fabric. We showed the customer what came out so they could see the difference for themselves.
The result
The old mattress was thoroughly deep cleaned and finished with high heat steam sanitisation in just 45 minutes.
While the aged fabric and colour changes could not be reversed, the accumulated grime and sweat were successfully extracted.
The customer was really happy with the results, particularly after seeing what had been pulled out of the mattress.
