Sofa, Mattress & Upholstery Deep Clean — Mountbatten Condo
Eight items, deep cleaned and steam-sanitised in a two-hour visit — a family home fresh off an international move, getting a full reset before they settled in with their baby.
The situation
A condo in the Mountbatten, Kallang area, and a family who had just moved back to Singapore from overseas.
When you relocate across the world, your furniture comes with you — and there's no gentle way to do it. Sofas and mattresses get packed into shipping containers for weeks at a time, through warehousing, transit and humidity nobody has any control over. It's simply part of moving, and no amount of care at either end changes what a long journey like that leaves behind in the fabric.
It's a lovely home with two cats, any cat owner already knows the deal: hairballs happen, the odd bit of vomit happens, and fur finds its way into everything. It's unavoidable — part of the joy of living with cats — and over time it does leave its mark on fabric.
With a baby in the home and a year of living behind them, the family wanted every soft surface properly deep cleaned. Eight items in one visit: two queen mattresses, two baby mattresses, an L-shape sofa, a second sofa, and an armchair.

What we did
Every item got hot water extraction followed by steam sanitisation — all eight, no exceptions.
Extraction pulls the embedded material up and out of the fabric: dust, everyday build-up, cat fur worked deep into the weave, and the hairball stains that come with the territory when you own cats. Steam followed on every piece — high heat that kills dust mites and bacteria the extraction can't reach. That step matters most in a home where a baby and pets share the same soft surfaces.
The L-shape sofa and the armchair were the most-used pieces in the home, so they took the most work. The mattresses were more straightforward — but they're the last things you'd want to skip with an infant in the house.

The result
Everything came up clean, and the extraction water told the story — as it always does. The L-shape and the armchair produced the dirtiest tanks by a distance, simply because they're the pieces the family uses most.
What makes this one worth writing up is the gap between how a home looks and what's actually in the fabric. This was a lovely home that presented beautifully — and the water still came out dark.
