A carpet, sofa and armchair deep cleaned in one hour — furniture and flooring that looked clean on the surface, but still produced a surprising amount of dirt during extraction.
The situation
A clean-looking HDB home in Serangoon North, where the carpet, sofa and armchair appeared to be in good condition.
There were no obvious signs that the items were particularly dirty. But with fabric furniture and carpets, what you can see on the surface doesn't always tell the whole story.
There were three types of items that needed attention: a carpet, sofa, and armchair. We carried out a deep clean to remove the dirt and buildup that had accumulated through regular everyday use.
What we did
We used deep extraction and steam cleaning on the carpet, sofa and armchair.
The extraction process worked through the fabric and carpet fibres to loosen and remove dirt that wasn't immediately visible.
We then used steaming as an additional cleaning step on the suitable items.
Despite everything looking relatively clean beforehand, the extraction still pulled out a considerable amount of dirt from the carpet and upholstery.
The result
The carpet, sofa and armchair were thoroughly deep cleaned and steam-treated within the one-hour session.
The most telling part of the job was what came out during extraction. The items looked clean before we started, but the amount of dirt extracted showed that surface appearance doesn't always reflect what's sitting deeper within fabric and carpet fibres.
