A Commune Living sofa, Castlery dining chairs and a Herman Miller office chair deep cleaned in one hour — furniture that looked protected and well-kept, but still had years of dirt and buildup hidden in the fabric.
The situation
There were three types of furniture that needed attention: a Commune Living sofa, Castlery dining chairs and a Herman Miller office chair.
The furniture had been used regularly, with the Herman Miller chair showing the most obvious signs of years of use. The sofa had also been kept under a cover and protector, which gave the impression that the fabric underneath would still be clean.
But once we started working on the pieces, it became clear that there was more buildup than expected.
What we did
We used deep extraction cleaning across the furniture, focusing on the areas with visible stains and accumulated dirt.
The Herman Miller office chair received particular attention because of the amount of buildup from years of regular use.
For the Commune Living sofa, we also worked through the protected fabric underneath the cover. Despite having a cover and protector, the extraction still pulled out a significant amount of dirt.
The Castlery dining chairs were cleaned as part of the same session.
The result
The Herman Miller office chair showed a noticeable transformation, with stains and built-up gunk successfully removed after the deep cleaning.
The Commune Living sofa was another reminder that furniture can be dirtier than it looks. Even with a cover and protector in place, the extraction brought out a significant amount of dirt — more than the customer expected.
