Woodlands Landed Bungalow Full Home Upholstery Deep Cleaning Project
A full-home upholstery clean covering 25 fabric items in a large Woodlands bungalow — including carpets, sofas, chairs and office chairs, with extra care taken on the home's velvet dining chairs.
The situation
The house was huge and very well kept. We were tasked with cleaning all the fabric items throughout the home, covering everything from the carpets and sofas to the dining and office chairs.
The dining chairs were upholstered in velvet, which required additional attention during the cleaning process. Velvet needs to be handled carefully because repeated cleaning can make the fabric slightly stiffer if it is oversprayed.
What we did
We did our signature deep cleaning with shampoo injection and extraction, and finished off with a high heat steam sanitisation.
For the velvet dining chairs, we took an additional careful pass over the fabric. We were mindful not to overspray the velvet, as excess moisture can affect how the fabric feels after cleaning.
The velvet also needed to be combed neatly after cleaning to keep the fibres sitting correctly and maintain the appearance of the fabric.
The result
The entire home was completed in 2 hours 30 minutes, covering 25 fabric items across the property.
The carpets, sofas, armchair, dining chairs and office chairs all received our signature deep clean, while the velvet dining chairs received the additional care needed for their fabric.
